01

Who operates Venture

Venture is a motorcycle route discovery, ride tracking and rider community app operated by Straightening Forks Ltd. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

If you have a privacy question or request, email us at support@ventureride.app.

02

Information we collect

We collect information you provide, information created when you use Venture, and limited technical information from your device.

Account and profile

Your email address, name, username, account identifier and sign-in method. You may also add a profile photo, general location, home-base preference and visibility setting.

Waitlist

Your email address when you join the Venture waitlist. We use it to send launch news and early access updates.

Ride and location data

When you start tracking or navigation, precise GPS points, timestamps, destination, distance, duration, elevation, speed and related ride statistics. Location may continue to be recorded in the background while that session is active.

Content and activity

Rides, routes, photos, posts, comments, follows, ratings, reviews, tips, tags, bookmarks, scheduled rides and invitations that you create or interact with.

Device and service data

Device and operating-system information, app version, IP address, request times, notification preferences and token, feature interactions, errors and security logs.

Third-party sign-in

If you use a third-party sign-in option, we receive the identifier and profile details you authorise, usually your name and email address.

Location and visibility

Venture does not passively record your movements outside an active ride or navigation session. Rides and speed information are private by default; content you choose to publish is visible according to the visibility setting you select.

Legal and business recipients

Authorities or other parties where required by law, necessary to protect rights or safety, or involved in a merger, financing or sale of the business.

Providers may process personal data only for the services they supply to us and must protect it to standards consistent with this policy and applicable law.

05

International processing

Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum. Contact us if you would like more information about the safeguard relevant to your data.

06

Retention and deletion

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Waitlist: until launch updates are complete, you ask us to remove your address, or it is otherwise no longer needed.
  • Backups: residual copies expire within 90 days and are isolated from normal use.
  • Support correspondence: up to 24 months after the matter is resolved.
  • Security and diagnostic logs: only for as long as reasonably needed to operate and protect Venture or investigate an incident.

07

Your choices and rights

Controls and deletion

You can manage ride and profile visibility in Venture and change location or notification permissions in device settings. You can delete your account and associated data from within Venture, or email us with a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity.

Your legal rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a portable copy of your personal data; restrict or object to its use; or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing. We normally respond within one month.

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Venture is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

Security and policy updates

We use technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal data. We may update this policy when Venture, our providers or the law changes, and will publish the revised policy here with a new effective date. We will provide additional notice where a change materially affects how we use personal data.
